Factors that influence where an industry locates.
For an industry to operate they need cetain factors. These factors can influence where an industry will locate.
WORKFORCE
One factor will be the workforce, it then depends whether the industry will be a skilled workforce or an unskilled workforce. Skilled jobs are jobs which only trained people would be able to do like being a mechanic or an engineer, whereas an unskilled jobs is a job which anyone can do so it is a job like turning on the lights in an industry or being a cleaner.
INFRASTRUCTURE
This is another factor that can influence where an industry will locate is infrastructure. This is in relation to transport. So this is things like are there good roads around the area where the industry want to locate. This is also things like is the area busy with traffic alot so things like this can turn an industry away from an area.

So the video that I have posted down below are of donuts. Although they are not being produced in an industry, I will be hust using them as an example. The raw materials would be the batter, then the processes would be the cooking of the donuts and then finally the outputs would be the finished donuts.

Industry - OUTPUTS
An industry has inputs, then processes and then finally followed by outputs. An output in an industry is usually its finished product. So in the videos that I have shown below, the finished product in these cases would be an electric violin and paintballs. An output of an industry would usually be smaller trhen the raw materials used to make them and they would usually be easier to transport.

Industry- PROCESSES
For an industry to manufacture a product they need a process of making it. I will use one of the videos below as an example. I am going to use the electric violin as my example, A process needed to manufacture the electric violin is to mark out the pieces needed to make the violin. They then need to be cut out on the band saw.

Industry - RAW MATERIALS
For a business to manufacture any type of product, they will need raw materials. Every business needs raw materials, but the next question is do they make the finished product and then transport it, or do they transport the raw materials and then manufacture it. For example, if a white board pen making company wants to transport pens they will transport the finished product rather than the raw material as it is smaller to transport than just transporting the big and bulky raw materials.
